From the plane on the bike
A unique feature of our organisation is that you can have your bicycles ready and waiting for you at Eindhoven airport. In this small airport, you could be out of the plane and on your bike within half an hour. Your luggage will be transferred by taxi(bus) or by ourselves, and someone will cycle part of the way with you to bring you to your accommodation.
This service, including baggage transport is €82.50 one way for anything up to 50 bikes at a go. Of course, if there are only two of you, and if Jim and I are available, we can do this service for you ourselves. In that case you pay €25. (Our car is not available on Thursdays and Fridays.)
Exclusive Feather Down Farm Days
This gives accommodation for families of 6 max., on a working farm, as it was in the olden days. You live in a wooden tent on the farm. You cook on a woodstove. There is no electricity. You mill your own coffee beans, pick your own eggs, bake your own bread (under the watchful eye of the farmers’ wife), sleep in shuttered box beds, use a natural cool box (in stead of a fridge), a water pump, etc. There is only one Feather Down Farm in our province, so you need to book well in advance. Prices range from €400-€600/week depending on the season. Also weekends and midweek arrangements. Hire of bed linens conditional @ €6 p.p.
Traditional wagons
These traditionally horse-drawn ‘caravans’ accommodate from 2 to 8 people, €60-€170/weekend. They are stationary, on a camping.
Eating out
If you wish, we will also book restaurants for you in or around Oirschot, ensuring that you get to eat in the best local kitchens. And all in the price range that best fits your purse. We charge €3 per booking.
Organised day Trips
We can organise day-trips to cities such as Amsterdam, The Hague and Antwerp. And don't forget 's Hertogenbosch, the town of the famous Dutch painter Jeroen Bosch. 's-Hertogenbosch is a wonderful and well preserved medieval city, hardly known to foreign tourists. It houses the new and delightful Jheronimus Bosch Art Centre, which is the only place on earth where you get to know everything about the painter. The exhibition is suitable for children from about 10 years upward and comes highly recommended. You could combine this exhibition with an underground boat trip, also highly recommended and a guided Jeroen Bosch walk. In The Hague, another city that is undervalued by foreign visitors, you could combine a visit to the Maurits House Museum with a saunter down the yearly European statues exhibition along one of the central boulevards close to the museum and have a look at the Dutch queen's work palace. As for, Amsterdam, we lived there ourselves for several years. We know our way around the city and could give you some useful tips. If you go to The Hague or 's-Hertogenbosch, one of us can serve as a guide, else we give you detailed directions. You can either cycle to the train station, or take the bus or taxi. The train station is 6 km away. We can, if you prefer, buy your tickets for you. You receive your tickets and tourist information on your arrival, on the night before your trip, or on the day of the outing itself. €5 per train reservation (per group). We can also book your tickets to tourist/ cultural attractions such as The Efteling (Disney Park type outing), the Safari Park, museums, canoeing, etc. In addition, you might want us to have cycling or walking maps (€5, £3.50, $7) ready for you and we are available to help you orientate on the spot. Most restaurants, by the way, have an English menu on request, but again, we will provide translations when there is no such service.
Family/group outings
Example of day-outings that we can organise for you are:
A cycle or taxi ride to a small local zoo, lunch in a pancake house, a canoe trip of 3 hours or a visit to a clog making museum or group biking, and a Burgundian dinner.
For a host of other possible outings or combinations of outings, see Tourist and Cultural Attractions. |
